Financial support for children with developmental disabilities

The Watson Family Foundation was established to support families requiring financial assistance for the care of their special needs children, helping to improve and sustain the children’s quality of life. The Watson Family Foundation is managed by The Calgary Foundation and distributed by the Developmental Disabilities Resource Centre of Calgary (DDRC).

The Watson Family Foundation was established to support families requiring financial assistance for the care of their special needs children, helping to improve and sustain the children’s quality of life. The Watson Family Foundation is managed by The Calgary Foundation and distributed by the Developmental Disabilities Resource Centre of Calgary (DDRC).
Grant applicants must ensure the following guidelines are met:
- The direct beneficiary of the grant must be under 18 years of age.
- The direct beneficiary of the grant has been diagnosed with a developmental disability and proper documentation (e.g., proper documentation, such as a doctor’s report, is provided).
- The family has not applied for the grant within 5 years of the last request.
- The applicant must prove that other sources of funding have been exhausted.
- The applicant must fill out the application completely and accurately.

Examples of how funds are distributed include setting up accounts with a third party, invoicing expenses, and reimbursing expenses.
